Improper mix ratios, wrongly installed or no flashing protection, damaged eaves troughs and downpipes, leaking roofs and chimneys, wrongly installed windows, insufficient allowance for protective wall overhangs; the list goes on.

Preparation for Rainscreen

For single homes and small townhouses we usually recommend budget option of double layer of 60 min paper. For big townhomes and apartment buildings we suggest high quality products since these buildings take several weeks to be finished while the building paper is exposed to weather elements. We have to make sure the paper and plywood are in good condition when it?s time for rain-screen and the stucco application.

The Stucco Application Process

Once the wall is prepared with furring strips and the rainscreen mat has been applied it is time to install metal lath, weep screed, corner treatments, and the bug screen. Trim accessories are cut to size using metal snips but are often very sharp, so always wear gloves when working with these materials. Now its time to apply the stucco.
